KEA KSET 2023: Exam Pattern and Syllabus
- The KEA KSET 2023 exam consists of two papers: Paper I and Paper II. Both papers are objective type and have multiple choice questions (MCQs). The exam will be conducted in offline mode using OMR sheets. The candidates have to mark their answers using a black ballpoint pen only.
- Paper I is common for all candidates and has 50 questions. Each question carries 2 marks, making the total marks of Paper I 100.
- The duration of Paper I is one hour. Paper I tests the candidates’ general awareness, teaching and research aptitude, and reasoning skills. - Paper II is subject-specific and has 100 questions. Each question carries 2 marks, making the total marks of Paper II 200. The duration of Paper II is two hours.
- Paper II tests the candidates’ knowledge and understanding of their chosen subject. The questions are based on the syllabus prescribed by the UGC for each subject.

- The candidates have to answer both papers in the same language as their chosen subject, except for subjects like English, Hindi, Urdu, etc., which have to be answered in their respective languages only.
- There is no negative marking for wrong answers in both papers. However, the candidates have to attempt all the questions in both papers, as any unanswered question will be treated as incorrect.
- The candidates have to score at least 40% marks in aggregate (35% for reserved categories) in both papers to qualify for eligibility for Assistant Professor and Lecturer posts.

KEA KSET Application 2023: How to Fill the Online Form
The candidates who wish to apply for the KEA KSET 2023 exam can follow the steps given below to fill the online application form:
Step 1: Visit the official website of KEA at kea.kar.nic.in or CLICK HERE
Step 2: Click on the link “K-SET-2023 On-Line Application Link” under the Latest Announcements section or go to Admissions > KARNATAKA STATE ELIGIBILITY TEST(K-SET)-2023
Step 3: A new page will open where you can see the “Submit Application for the Karnataka State Eligibility Test”. Click on it and Fill all the details mentioned in application. At last confirm and Submit the Application.
NOTE: Your application number and date of birth are considered to authentication. There’s No username or password as it was before.
Step 4: Once you submit the application you’ll get message as notification. You will recieve Application number. Now go back to KEA KSET 2023 Online Application Home Page and click on “Upload Your Photo,Signature”.
A new page will open where you have to authenticate with your Application ID and Date of Birth to continue to upload the photo and signature.
Upload your scanned photograph and signature in the prescribed format and size. The photograph should be in JPG/JPEG format and should not exceed 50 KB in size. The signature should be in JPG/JPEG format and should not exceed 30 KB in size.
Step 5: Once the photo, signature uploaded then go back to Online Application Home Page again. Now click on “Generate the Postal Challan”. Where you have to authenticate again with your Application ID and Date of Birth and click “Submit”. You’ll receive the Challan. Save the Challan in PDF format or you can directly Print the challan which is generated.
Pay the application fee through offline mode only using postal challan. The application fee is Rs.1000 for General, Cat-IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB, and candidates from other states, while it is Rs.700 for Cat-I, SC, ST, PWD, and Transgender candidates.
Step 9: After successful payment, it may take a day or two depending on server. Once it’s successful then go to Online Application Home Page again where you will see “Print Application”. Once again authenticate with your Application ID and Date of Birth. And click Submit then you will see the preview and print your application form. You can also download in PDF format for future reference.
Take a printout of your application form and keep it safely. You do not need to send them to KEA by post or courier.

KEA KSET 2023: Admit Card and Result
